30/12/2005 · The 3102 does not have power feed, the 3103 is the same mill with the power feed. It also costs slightly more. I am not a machinist, but I think it is a very good machine for home shop use. I added a Grizz DRO to my 3102 to make it easier to track my moves. Grizz has a flat shipping rate, and the machine crated weighs in at 900 or so lbs.
· I suggest some major cleanup of the mill, the Chinese machines come get here in big cheap plywood crates, and are covered in yucky grease, this is only for protection while on the ship. Get some mineral spirits or Kerosene and a bunch of cheap harbor freight paint brushes and shop rags, they sell these in bulk pack, and clean every metal surface of the yucky grease.
19/02/2017 · Yesterday I looked at harbor freight and saw the usual stuff that I've memorized from seeing a million times. Tonight I flipped back over there and thought I was on the wrong sight. They have a bunch of new lathes and milling machines I've never seen before. Not that I'm looking for any new machines. Happy with my g4000 and 44991.

It's been sitting in storage for a few years now and is in need of a service and upgrade. Since it was originally a manual mill, it lacks many of the bells and whistles of proper VMC. This project aims to rectify some of these deficiencies.

I would appreciate some cold, honest feedback on product "quality" from anyone who own the Grizzly (G3102) or Harbor Freight (40939) 6x26 vertical knee mills. I can get the HF shipped to my door for 1600 while the Grizzly runs 2900. That's a hell of a price delta.
